Project Australia 2023
Total Solar Eclipse Observation Sites
Exmouth is a small resort town of some 2,600 people on Western Australia’s North West Cape. The large RAAF Learmonth air base provides a small civil terminal for domestic flights from Perth.
For tours flying to Exmouth on the day of the eclipse we are working with the Exmouth Shire to establish a site close to the eclipse track centreline. This significantly reduces potential delays caused by traffic congestion on the single road from Learmonth airport into Exmouth town. The site will have adequate shade, seating and toilet facilities and lunch will be provided. There will also be a first aid unit and an internet booster facility is currently being installed. This is a beach side location with good walking and swimming options direct from the site.
Projects staying at the Exmouth Resorts will observe from the Exmouth Escape Resort and have access to air conditioned facilities and toilets. Lunch will be provided at the resort and there is adequate space in the resort grounds (and in the nearby open ground bordering the resort) to set up any equipment you should wish to bring.
