Day 1 (27 September 2024) - Arrival in Buenos Aires

Arrive in Buenos Aires, your base for the next two nights. This is a big, cosmopolitan capital city. Its centre is the Plaza de Mayo, lined with stately 19th-century buildings including Casa Rosada, the iconic, balconied presidential palace. Home of great poets, painters, musicians, and dancers, and with a rich history that is very much alive in the urban memory, the rhythm of culture is restless in a metropolis that is always open to new trends.

Day 2 - Enjoy Buenos Aires with optional excursions available

Known around the world as the capital of tango, its music and dance invade the scene, whether at the most sophisticated tango dance halls or the most popular neighbourhood milonga. The city boasts 48 areas each with its own style, featuring bars, plazas, football and sports stadiums, temples, milongas or tango dance halls, and theatres. The most visited areas are Abasto, Puerto Madero, San Telmo, Recoleta (famous for its cemetery), Palermo, La Boca, and the downtown avenues, such as Corrientes.

Day 3 - Today fly to Comodoro Rivadavia and start your Patagonian adventure

Today fly to Comodoro Rivadavia and then travel inland by coach (380km), partly along the famous scenic Route 40 to Perito Merino town which is our base for the next three nights. *Please note Perito Merino town should not be confused with Perito Merino National Park.

Day 4 - Day at leisure with optional tour available to the Marble Caves in Chile

Today enjoy a day at leisure with an optional full day excursion available to the Marble Caves at Chile Chico which is over the border in Chilean Patagonia. The town sits on the southern shore of General Carrera Lake, which is ringed by glaciers and mountains. In the lake is the Capilla de Mármol Natural Sanctuary, a series of marble formations sculpted by the water. Overnight in Perito Merino Town.

Day 5 - Today we visit the Cueva de las Manos (Cave of the Hands)

Today enjoy a full day excursion to Cueva de las Manos, a cave and complex of rock art sites in the province of Santa Cruz, Argentina, 163 km south of the town of Perito Moreno. It is named for the hundreds of hand paintings stencilled into multiple collages on the rock walls. Overnight in Perito Merino Town.

Day 6 - Eclipse Day

Today we will take you to our chosen spot near the 1000km point of the highway at Las Horquetas to observe the eclipse. This dry region of the Pampas is sheltered by the dominating Andes Mountain chain. After the eclipse we continue on to the town of Gobernador Gregores for an overnight stay.

Day 7 - Today we continue south to El Calafate, gateway to Los Glaciares National Park

Today we travel 335km to the town of El Calafate situated near the edge of the Southern Patagonian Ice Field. Mainly known as the gateway to Los Glaciares National Park, it is home to the massive Perito Moreno Glacier, whose ever-shifting icy landscape is popular for hiking and sightseeing. A modern interpretive centre called the Glaciarium serves as an introduction to the region’s numerous glaciers. We spend the next two nights in El Calafate.

Day 8 - Day at leisure with optional tour available to the Perito Merino Glacier

Today enjoy a day at leisure with an optional full day excursion available to Perito Merino Glacier. If you only visit one glacier in your life, then this glacier would be a good one to pick. It towers above the turquoise glacial water of Patagonia’s Los Glaciares National Park, beaming a blinding white and exuding cold blue hues. Unlike most of earth’s other glaciers, Perito Moreno is still growing.

Day 9 - Today join your return flight to Buenos Aires for your last night of the tour

Join your return flight to Buenos Aires and enjoy your last evening in this vibrant city. Often called the 'Paris of South America,' Buenos Aires offers tree-lined boulevards with 19th-century architecture, and colourful neighbourhoods and nightlife districts that rival the best in the world.

Day 10 (06 October 2024) - Join your return flight or perhaps extend your stay

Today is the last day of the tour. Join your return flight unless you have chosen to extend your stay.
