Day 2 - Day at leisure in Barcelona with optional excursions available

Barcelona's architectural treasures span more than 2000 years and provide a window into Roman-era Barcino. Take a stroll through the shadowy lanes of the Gothic quarter, past tranquil plazas and soaring 14th-century cathedrals. In other parts of town view the sculptural masterpieces of Modernisme - a mix of ingenious and whimsical creations by Gaudí and his Catalan architectural contemporaries. Barcelona has also long inspired artists, including Pablo Picasso and Joan Miró, both of whom have major Barcelona museums devoted to their works.

Day 1 (Monday 9th August 2021) - Arrival in Barcelona

Arrive in Barcelona, and spend the next two nights in the cosmopolitan capital of Spain’s Catalonia region, famous for its art and architecture. Overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, and famous for Gaudí and other Art Nouveau architecture, Barcelona is one of Europe’s trendiest cities.

Tour Price £875 / $1,200 per person* *Please note these costings are based on March 2021 prices and are subject to change.

• The price is for the tour from hotel check-in on Day 1 to your return to Barcelona on Day .
• Bed and breakfast accommodation is provided in hotels throughout the tour and all transfers, transportation and local guided excursions as outlined in the itinerary (if applicable) are included. Other meals are not included and some excursions are offered on an optional basis closer to the tour departure date (the word 'optional' is used to describe these).
• Accommodation is provided in twin or double bed hotel rooms with a private bathroom.
• To avoid paying a single room supplement, we are usually able to arrange shared accommodation with a person of the same gender - this is known as 'twin share' accommodation.
• A limited number of rooms for sole occupancy are available at a single room supplement - Prices £145 / $195.
• Flight packages from London and the US can be arranged by our flight partner or you can arrange your own International flights if you prefer.
• Current return air fares from London to Barcelona (return) are between about £50 and £150 and from the US about $450 to $1000 (depending on the departure point within the US).
• Airport transfers and assistance are included on arrival and departure days if you take advantage of the International flight package offered by our flight partner. If you choose to arrange your own International flights then the meet point is the hotel on Day 1 and the tour ends at the drop off in Barcelona on the final day.

Day 5 (Friday 13th August 2021) - Join your return flight or perhaps extend your stay in Barcelona

Today is the last day of the tour. Return to Barcelona this morning and join your late afternoon/early evening return flight (flight departures from 3pm onwards) unless you have chosen to extend your stay and spend extra time in Barcelona .

Day 3 - Travel inland towards the Montsec range

---

Today we travel inland towards The Montsec Range. The Catalonian province of Lleida is one of the most mountainous provinces in Spain and the fourth and probably least-known province of Catalonia. Spend two nights in this beautiful area. Later this evening we venture to Montsec Astronomical Park for a guided tour and our location for tonights dark skies.

Day 4 - At leisure in the beautiful foothills of the Pyrenees

---

Time at leisure in this area of outstanding natural beauty. A chance to relax before heading out later this evening for a second night of dark skies. Far from big urban areas, the peaceful Montsec range and its sky, were established as a Starlight Foundation. A Starlight Destination is a place committed to the protection of the night skies and the access to starlight, with the aim to guarantee the quality of the sky and the associated values.
