Day 1 (16th August 2026) - Heimaey (Westman Island) sightseeing

Following on from Day 9 of the Main Greenland tour, after the Heimaey guided walking and Museum tour, take the ferry to the mainland and transfer by coach for a southern Iceland adventure.  Spend 2 nights in this fascinating area of natural wonders.

Day 2 (17th August 2026) - Activity Day

Enjoy an adventure day filled with glacier hikes and ice caves.  Sometimes called Crystal Caves, the ice caves in Icelandic glaciers are a truly mesmerizing wonder of nature. See up close and personal why Iceland is called the Land of Fire and Ice on this extension tour.

Day 3 (18th August 2026) - Reykjanes Peninsula

Today travel towards the Reykjanes Peninsula, where the North-Atlantic Ocean ridge comes ashore, and the manifestations of the continental rift zone between North America and Eurasia are prominent. Reykjanes means the steam peninsula and the area features a unique volcanic landscape, recognized by UNESCO as the Reykjanes Geopark, with 55 defined geosites.  Overnight Reykjavik.

 

Day 4 (19th August 2026) - Depart Reykjavik

Today is the last day of the Post Tour extension. Join your return flight.

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN MY TOUR?

  • The price is for the post tour extension from Day 1 to hotel check-out on Day 4.

  • Bed and breakfast accommodation is provided and all transfers, transportation and all transfers, transportation and local excursions as outlined in the itinerary (if applicable) are included. Other meals are not included, and some excursions are offered on an optional basis closer to the tour departure date (the word 'optional' is used to describe these).

  • Accommodation is provided in twin or double bed hotel rooms with a private bathroom. We are usually able to arrange shared accommodation with a person of the same gender - this is known as 'twin share' accommodation.

  • A limited number of rooms for sole occupancy are available at a single room supplement of |GB£TBA / US$TBA.

  • International Flights will be offered by our flight partner approximately 11 months in advance of the tour departure (when all fares and schedules are available) or you can arrange your own International Flights if you prefer.

  • The tour starts at the end of Day 9 of the Main Greenland tour sightseeing in Heimaey and ends at the hotel in Reykjavik on Day 4.  Departure Airport transfers and assistance and extra nights at the group hotel can be arranged closer to departure at additional cost.
