I was part of the Astro-Trails Greenland eclipse tour in August 2026, and it was just a fantastic experience. I've seen four eclipses in my life, and while each is unique, this was probably the best. The trip is not for the faint-of-heart. When they tell you a shore expedition will be a bit challenging, believe it. But accommodations are made for all physical abilities -- and it was a great experience. What utterly astonished me was the level of absolute luxury we experienced in, what to me at any rate, was the high arctic (71 degrees north latitude). A lovely bar and meeting room, great lectures, a fantastic crew -- and first class meals and service. The Captain of our vessel was utterly committed to making sure he found a largely cloudless location in Scoresby Sound, where shore parties could be assembled to go out in zodiacs to watch the eclipse, and those of us who remained onboard could enjoy the astronomical extravaganza as well. He succeeded for all of us. It was quite a beautiful experience. And, when a passenger unexpectedly became ill, the ship absolutely BOLTED to the nearest sophisticated medical center in Iceland and managed to save his vision. And although that cost us a shore excursion in lovely Greenland, I never heard a single passenger complain. In all, an excellent experience... One which, I wish, could only have lasted longer. I'm now in the process of trying to book with Astro-Trails again for the 2028 solar eclipse in Australia. I sure hope I can move from the waiting list for that trip to the actual booking. Thank you Astro-Trails -- and thank you to the fantastic crew of the SH Diana.

The San Antonio trip was SPECTACULAR!

Just returned home after a fabulous Astro Trails trip in Mexico (followed by a self-organised Belize extention). The eclipse was spectecular (the one I individually tried to go to in 2009 drowned in rain....). So this time I decided to book with an experienced eclipse travel company. And it worked!!! The clouds in Torreon almost magically disappeared at the moment supreme.

After the eclipse we visited several archaeological Mayan sites in Yucatan and swam in one of the beautiful cenotes.
The communication with the Astro Trails team when booking the trip was very professional, prompt and very clear. The Astro Trails team guiding our trip - Yvonne, Phoebe and Nick - were excellent and good fun. They dealt with all Mexican challenges the best way possible and made sure everyone was having a good time. Nick also sent me some beautiful pictures of the pink prominences that were visible during the eclipse. Thank you!!!!
I totally recommend traveling with Astro Trails. (It is more fun to travel with non-Dutch people anyway!!)

My wife and I had such a good experience with Astrotrails in Mexico, we used their services again for the Spanish eclipse in August 2026. As before, without exception all the staff were excellent. As my wife K Leake wrote for Mexico, the attention to detail was top notch. At the eclipse site, there was a short walk up a steep (ish) gradient. However, as we got off the coaches, there were a number of vehicles ready to take heavy bags and anyone who wanted a lift. A really nice micro detail that meant a lot to a number of people both with heavy equipment, or not so sure of the walk.
A few days before the eclipse, my friend took a fall and felt unable to go the viewing site. Where they were, the max eclipse would be 99.9%. Other companies would of call that tuff luck. Not Astrotrails, at the main event the eclipse totally was facetimed back to them, so they didn’t miss out on this extra spectacular eclipse.
If you are thinking of going to witness an eclipse consider Astrotrails to assist you in your planning. We are using their services again in 2028. Looking forward to a cracking one in Oz guys. Many thanks to each and everyone one of you

What a fabulous trip we had to Mexico with Astro-Trails. The weather for Eclipse Day kept us guessing until the very last few minutes, but miraculously delivered just in time for a spectacular eclipse. The rest of the trip was superb too- exploring ancient Mayan ruins in the Yucatan and the delights of ancient and modern cities in this intriguing country. The whole Astro-Trails team did a great job in planning and executing this complex itinerary, despite the organisational challenges that Mexico presents! Thanks to you all!

We are typing this in the plane enroute back to Canada. After the eclipse tour that ended on April 21, we took a ten day road trip up the coast to Monkey Mia. We wanted to tell you that the eclipse tour itself was superb, very well planned and organized. Astro Trails did a fabulous job. We really liked the hotels and their amazing breakfast buffets. We could not have done it without you. Thanks again for your hard work.

As this was our first solar total eclipse and our first experience on a cruise ship, we had apprehensions about what to expect. However, it turned out the stars lined up perfectly (literally the planets, moon and sun) for the main event of watching the solar eclipse totality from the ship. The ship's captain manoeuvered the vessel within one of the calm inlets of Scoresby Sound Greenland with icebergs floating by. During the cruise, the Astro Trails Team included a top-notch list of astronomical, geological, historical, camera expert lectures along with their very interesting lecturers. All lectures were taking place during the sailing hours on the beautiful expedition ship line named Swan Hellenic - Diana. The post tour was also outstanding as we embarked on hiking adventures to a few waterfalls, a lava cave, an ice cave, Yoda cave, and a beautiful rocky coastline.
Astro Trails did a grand job of pulling this trip together. It was outstanding.

We went to Mexico with Astro Trails to see the eclipse. The attention to detail for the whole trip was excellent. The two week tour started and ended in Mexico City. Using busses and planes, we visited a number of cities, towns and historic sites. Before the left the UK we were provided with a custom itinerary with everything we needed to know. An additional document explaining the meany facets of the eclipse was also provided. All the staff without exception, including the Mexican tour guides and coach drivers were very friendly and understanding of all if there customer needs and requirements, nothing was to much trouble. Without hesitation I will use their services again and highly recommended you consider them when planning your next astro trip.
