Project Mexico - Tour 6: A Mexican Quickie!

Day 1 (6 April 2024) - Travel from Mexico City to Torreon, our base for the eclipse

Join a MID MORNING group flight from Mexico City and fly across Mexico’s wide central desert plain region for a three night stay in Torreon (*you may need to arrive in Mexico City the night before for an early morning check in today - subject to any airline schedule changes - we can assist with flight arrangements and extra nights in Mexico City if required). Torreon lies along the Nazas River and is a city of contrasts in the middle of semi-desert. A relatively new city by Mexican standards, it lies at the heart of much of Mexico's industrial development.
 

Day 2 (7 April 2024) - At leisure in Torreon

Arrive in advance of the eclipse day crowds and soak up the atmosphere in Torreon, the sunniest place along the eclipse path and very close to the point of maximum duration. 
 

Day 3 (8 April 2024) - Eclipse Day

Travel by coach to the eclipse centre line which is close to the longest duration point of the eclipse. Return to Torreon after the eclipse for overnight.

 

Day 4 (9 April 2024) - Return to Mexico City 

Today join a return flight to Mexico City where services end LATE AFTERNOON / EARLY EVENING at the airport on arrival (subject to any airline schedule changes - we can assist with flight arrangements and extra nights in Mexico City if required).

• The price is for the tour from flight check-in in Mexico City on Day 1 to flight arrival back into Mexico City on Day 4.

• Bed and breakfast accommodation is provided in a Superior Torreon hotel and all domestic flights, transfers and transportation and access to the Astro Trails observation site as outlined in the itinerary are included. Other meals are not included.  

• Accommodation is provided in twin or double bed hotel rooms with a private bathroom. We are usually able to arrange shared accommodation with a person of the same gender - this is known as 'twin share' accommodation.

• A limited number of rooms for sole occupancy are available at a single room supplement of GB£720 / US$850

• International flights to connect to this tour can be requested by you when fares and schedules are available, or you can arrange your own International flights if you prefer.

• Current return air fares from London to Mexico City are between about GB£880 and GB£1,200 and from the US about US$550 to US$1,080 (depending on the US departure point).
