Day 1 (04 October 2024) - End of main tour and fly to Cusco (B)

At the end of the Easter Island tour, fly to Cusco.   Upon arrival in Cusco transfer by road to the Sacred Valley for an overnight stay.  The Sacred Valley of the Incas, also known as the Urubamba Valley, is a valley north of the Inca capital of Cusco.

Day 2 (05 October 2024) - Vistadome Train to Machu Picchu  (B, L, D)

Today transfer to Ollantaytambo and take the magnificent vistadome 360° train to Agua Calientes.  During the train ride enjoy impressive views of majestic mountains, the Vilcanota River and the small towns of the Peruvian Andes.  From here transfer by minibus to Machu Picchu where you will spend time exploring the ruins on a guided tour. Return to Agua Calientes (also known as Machu Picchu Pueblo) at the foot of the Inca citadel, for an overnight stay.
 

Day 3 (06 October 2024) - Pisac Market and Cusco (B)

Today return by vistadome 360° train to Ollantaytambo and from here transfer by road to Cusco.  Stop at Taray viewpoint and Pisac Market en route to Cusco.  In Pisac, the focus is on the handicrafts of the Incas and the people who strive every day to keep this tradition alive.  Visit Awanakancha, a living Andean Museum and learn about the textile art of the area.  Continue to Cusco for overnight.
 

Day 4 (07 October 2024) - Cusco sightseeing (B)

Today enjoy a half day tour of Cusco and find out about the history of this charming city.  Visit the Koricancha Temple, pass through the towns Main Square and see the Cathedral.  Also visit the nearby Inca sites of Sacsayhuaman, Kenko and Puca Pucara.  Overnight in Cusco.
 

Day 5 (08 October 2024) - Join your return flight or perhaps extend your stay (B)

Today is the last day of the tour. Join your return flight to Lima where the tour ends at Lima Airport (unless you have chosen to extend your stay).

*Please note these costings are based on costings from November 2023 and are subject to change. Tours are costed on a USD rate of 1.25.

 

  • The price is for the tour from hotel check-in on Day 1 to your hotel check-out on Day 5.

  • Bed and breakfast accommodation is provided in hotels throughout the tour and all transfers, transportation, flights, and local excursions as outlined in the itinerary (if applicable) are included. Other meals are not included unless stated (eg, B=Breakfast, L=Lunch, D=Dinner).

  • Accommodation is provided in twin or double bed hotel rooms with a private bathroom. We are usually able to arrange shared accommodation with a person of the same gender - this is known as 'twin share' accommodation.

  • A limited number of rooms for sole occupancy are available at a single room supplement of GB£355 / US$450.

  • Flight packages from London and the US are available via our flight partner Star Travel, or you can arrange your own International flights if you prefer.  Please ask us for a quote.

  • The tour ends on arrival at Lima airport on Day 5.  Astro Trails can assist with extra nights in Lima if required (on request).
