Project Australia: POST Tour Cairns Extension

Day 1 (24th July 2028) - Fly to Cairns

Fly to Cairns and spend the next four nights in this tropical gateway to Far North Queensland. Cairns is a relaxed coastal city and a key base for exploring the Great Barrier Reef and the ancient rainforests of the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area.​​​

Day 2 (25th July 2028) - Cape Tribulation and Daintree Rainforest Tour (B, L)

Today enjoy a full day tour to Cape Tribulation, where the rainforest meets the reef. The day includes a cruise along the Daintree River, offering the chance to spot local wildlife, followed by a guided walk through Mossman Gorge and its lush rainforest setting. Lunch is included before continuing through the Daintree Rainforest to Cape Tribulation, one of Australia’s most ecologically significant regions.

 

Day 3 (26th July 2028) - Outer Great Barrier Reef Cruise (B, L)

Today join a full day Outer Great Barrier Reef Cruise aboard a sailing catamaran. The experience includes all snorkelling equipment, a guided snorkelling tour, and an informative presentation by a marine biologist. Morning and afternoon tea are provided, along with a buffet lunch, as you explore one of the world’s most important marine ecosystems.

 

Day 4 (27th July 2028) - Kuranda and Skyrail Rainforest Cableway and Scenic Railway (B)

Today join a full day tour to Kuranda.  Take the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway to Kuranda, with panoramic views over the canopy below.  Enjoy free time to explore Kuranda’s heritage markets and village atmosphere before returning to Cairns on the historic Kuranda Scenic Railway, passing waterfalls and dramatic mountain scenery.  Enjoy your last overnight in Cairns.​

Day 5 (28th July 2028) - Last day of the tour or perhaps extend your stay (B)

Today is the last day of the tour. Join your return flight home. Unless you have chosen to extend your stay in Cairns.

Twin / Double room – GB£1,995 / US$2,660 per person

Single Room Supplement – GB£585 / US$780

 

For single travellers, we are usually able to arrange shared accommodation with a person of the same gender – this is known as ’twin share’ accommodation. Choose the share twin room option (male or female) on the booking form.

 

*The per person cost is based on twin or double bed hotel rooms with a private bathroom

*Costings are based on prices from January 2026. All bookings on our projects are governed by our Terms and Conditions.​ The AUD conversion Rate of Exchange used in this project is 2.00 for GBP prices and 1.5 for USD prices. ​​

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN MY TOUR?

• Accommodation on the tour from check-in on Day 1 (usually around 3pm) to check-out (usually around 10am) on the final day of the tour. 

• Daily meal plan as outlined in the above tour summary. B = Breakfast, L = Lunch, D = Dinner

• All transfers, transportation, flights, trains, and local excursions as outlined in the itinerary (if applicable).

• All local excursions outlined in the tour summary (if applicable) unless it is specified as an ‘Optional Excursion’ which is offered at extra cost.​​​

WHAT'S NOT INCLUDED IN MY TOUR?

• Optional Excursions mentioned in the tour are offered closer to the tour departure date (approximately 9 months prior to the tour departure).

• International flights to/from Australia. Our flight partner, Star Travel UK, can assist with an international flight quote approximately 11 months in advance of the tour departure.

• Additional pre or post hotel nights outside the tour dates.  If required these can be requested at booking stage, with costs being advised approximately 9 months prior to the tour departure.

• Porterage, gratuities, and tips.

• Travel Insurance.​
