Day 1 (9th February 2027) – Lakes Crossing to Puerto Varas (B)
Join this extension tour from Bariloche on Day 8 of the Main Tour. Travel to Puerto Panuelo and board a boat to Puerto Blest. Continue by bus along the Río Frías to Puerto Alegre and from here, cross Lake Frías by boat, with its impressive Mount Tronador views. Complete immigration procedures before continuing across the Andes to Puella, the first Chilean village on the route. Later in the afternoon, sail across Lake Todos Los Santos to Petrohué and continue overland visiting Saltos del Petrohué waterfalls and Lake Llanquihue, before finally arriving in Puerto Varas for a two night stay.
Day 2 (10th February 2027) – Day at leisure in Puerto Varas with optional excursion available (B)
Today take the time to explore Puerto Varas, the 'City of Roses' or perhaps join an optional excursion to Chiloe Island, the Bay of Ancud and the Humboldt and Magellanic penguin colonies. Puerto Varas is an ideal town to explore on foot, which is the best way to take in views of Osorno Volcano and the wooden colonial homes built by German immigrants in the early 1900’s. The city is located on the shores of Lago Llanquihue, Chile's second-largest lake.
Day 3 (11th February 2027) – Fly to Santiago (B)
Today fly to Chile’s capital, Santiago, a large, modern, and cosmopolitan city situated in a central valley between the Andes Mountains and the Pacific Ocean. Spend two nights in this fabulous city with time at leisure to explore its highlights, including the Palacio de La Moneda, Plaza de Armas, the Museum of Pre-Columbian Art, the Costanera Tower, and the lively Bellavista neighbourhood with its colourful street art, cafés, and restaurants.
Day 4 (12th February 2027) – Day at leisure in Santiago with optional excursion available (B)
Beyond its historic landmarks, Santiago offers a rich cultural scene with bustling markets like Mercado Central, where you can savour fresh seafood and local flavours. Art lovers will enjoy the galleries and street art of the Lastarria neighbourhood, while those seeking green spaces can unwind in Parque Forestal or take in panoramic city views from Cerro San Cristóbal. Time to explore some more today or perhaps join an optional excursion to a couple of the vineyards outside the city for a wine tasting experience and lunch.
Day 5 (13th February 2027) – Last day of the tour or perhaps extend your stay (B)
Today is the last day of the tour. Join your return flight home unless you have chosen to extend your stay in Santiago.
