Project Egypt: Short Nile Cruise - POST Tour Extension

Day 1 (5th August 2027) - Fy from Cairo to Aswan and board your Nile Cruise (optional Abu Simbel excursion available on request)

Today, leave the main eclipse group tour and fly to Aswan where you will board your Nile cruise vessel.   Perhaps join an optional excursion to Abu Simbel or take a felucca ride around Elephantine and Kitchener Island.

 

Day 2 (6th August 2027) - Visit High Dam, Unfinished Obelisk, Philae and Kom Ombo Temples. Sail to Edfu

This morning visit Philae Temple and the Unfinished Obelisk, the largest known ancient obelisk located in the stone quarries of Aswan. Philae in Greek or Pilak in ancient Egyptian, meaning ‘the end,’ defined the southernmost limit of Egypt. The temple at Philae was nearly lost underwater when the high Aswan dam was built in the 1960s but fortunately the temple was rescued by a joint operation between the Egyptian government and UNESCO and relocated on the Island of Agilika.  Set sail from Aswan and visit Kom Ombo Temple, an unusual temple dedicated to two deities - Sobek and Horus. Continue on to Edfu this evening.

 

Day 3 (7th August 2027) - Visit Edfu. Sail to Luxor

Edfu was a flourishing Greek city in ancient times, commonly known as Apollinopolis Magna, after the chief God Horus-Apollo. Here visit Edfu Temple, the Temple of Horus, considered to be the best-preserved temple in Egypt. Sail onwards tonight to Luxor.

 

Day 4 (8th August 2027) - Disembark your cruise boat in Luxor and fly to Cairo (optional East and West bank Luxor sightseeing available on request)

Today disembark the Cruise in Luxor and join return flight to Cairo for the last night on the tour, unless you wish to join an optional excursion visiting the East Bank (Luxor and Karnak Temple) and West Bank (Valley of the Kings, Temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon) of Luxor.  Tonight spend one last night in the vibrant, bustling city of Cairo.​

Day 5 (9th August 2027) - Last day of the tour or perhaps extend your stay

Today is the last day of the tour. Join your return flight home unless you have chosen to extend your stay in Cairo.

 

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN MY TOUR?

Tour Price £2,625 / $3,125 per person*

• Arrival and departure Cairo airport transfers and assistance.

• Accommodation on the tour from leaving the main eclipse tour to check-out (usually around 10am) on Day 5. 

• Daily breakfast at the Cairo hotel.  Full Board (breakfast, lunch, dinner) whilst on the Nile Cruise.

• All transfers, transportation, flights, and trains as outlined in the itinerary (if applicable).

• All local excursions outlined in the itinerary unless it has been specified as an ‘Optional Excursion’.

• The per person cost is based on twin (2 bed) or double (1 bed) rooms with a private bathroom. We are usually able to arrange shared accommodation with a person of the same gender if required - this is known as 'twin share' accommodation.

• A limited number of rooms for sole occupancy are available at a single room supplement of £1,535 / $1,825.

• Nile Cruise - Please note that the cruise itinerary may be altered for reasons beyond our supplier's control (lock closures / low water levels of the Nile) and slight changes may be necessary depending on sailing conditions and any updated Government regulations. All sightseeing will however be provided.

WHAT'S NOT INCLUDED IN MY TOUR?

• Optional Excursions mentioned in the tour are offered closer to the tour departure date (approximately 6 months prior to the tour departure).

• International flights. Our flight partner, Star Travel UK, can assist with an international flight quote approximately 11 months in advance of the tour departure.

• Additional post Cairo hotel nights outside the extension tour dates.  If required these can be requested at booking stage, with costs being advised approximately 6 months prior to the tour departure.

• Beverages onboard the Nile Cruise

• Porterage, gratuities, and tips.
