PRE Tour Perth & Indian Pacific Rail Extension

Day 1 (13th July 2028) - Arrival into Perth

Arrive in Perth for a two-night stay.  Perth (known as Boorloo) is Australia's sunniest capital.  It is an isolated metropolis on the Swan River and Indian Ocean known for its high quality of life, white-sand beaches, and relaxed, outdoor lifestyle. It boasts expansive parklands and a thriving cultural, culinary, and small-bar scene. ​​​

Day 2 (14th July 2028) - Day at leisure in Perth with optional excursions available (B)

A day at leisure in Perth to enjoy the sights and sounds of this laid back capital city.  The city has its origins in 1829 when the Swan River Colony was established by the British Government. The area is also home to the Aboriginal Noongar people who have lived in the south-west region of Western Australia for more than 35,000 years. Planned optional excursions today include a Perth/Fremantle City Tour.

 

Day 3 (15th July 2028) - Join the Indian Pacific train bound for Sydney (B, D)

After lunch join the Indian Pacific train bound for Sydney. Known as one of the world's great train journeys, it provides an immersive, slow-travel adventure across the continent and includes the Nullarbor Plain's longest straight railway track. A fabled journey following the path of bush pioneers, gold rush prospectors, and legendary adventurers.  Along the route, witness the diverse landscapes of this beautiful country, from urban skyscapes to arid plains.

Day 4 (16th July 2028) - Kalgoorlie visit (B, L, D)

Awake to see the sunrise across the vast Nullarbor before arriving in Kalgoorlie, Australia's largest Outback town.  This stop offers an immersive off-train experience, showcasing Australia's gold rush history, including a visit to the massive Super Pit gold mine, the historic Boulder Town Hall, and local artisanal spots. Arrive in Cook in the late evening and join a stargazing tour to spot the Southern Cross. ​

Day 5 (17th July 2028) - View the Flinders Range, Spencer Gulf, Adelaide Plains and wine tasting and dinner in the Barossa Valley (B, L, D)

Spend the morning travelling through the pastoral heart of South Australia with sweeping views of the Flinders Range, Spencer Gulf and the Adelaide Plains. Disembark at Long Plains and transfer to the Barossa Valley.  The Barossa Valley Off Train Experience is an immersive, mid-afternoon stop in South Australia that combines premium wine tasting at Seppeltsfield Estate with a bespoke, curated culinary experience.

Day 6 (18th July 2028) - Broken Hill 'Silver City' visit (B, L, D)

Overnight the Indian Pacific crosses another border, arriving in Broken Hill, NSW.  This stop is a key highlight of the rail experience where guests can immerse themselves in the 'Silver City’s' rich mining history, art, and outback culture.  Off-train tours typically include a scenic drive to the Living Desert Sculptures and visits to the Sulphide St Railway and Historical Museum.

Day 7 (19th July 2028) - Blue Mountains and journeys end in Sydney (B, L, D)

The final day of your Indian Pacific rail journey begins in the majestic Blue Mountains, where soaring sandstone cliffs and eucalyptus valleys create a World Heritage site. After breakfast leave the train behind for an off train experience.  Enjoy an immersive, guided excursion through Scenic World, including the steepest railway, followed by indigenous cultural storytelling and a lunch at Echo Point lookout. A chartered rail service finally takes you to Sydney's Central Station in the afternoon where your journey ends.

Day 8 (20th July 2028) - Join Day 1 of the Main Sydney Eclipse Tour (B)

Today is a day at leisure in this beautiful city.  Join Day 1 of the Main Sydney Eclipse tour.​​​

For single travellers, we are usually able to arrange shared accommodation with a person of the same gender – this is known as ’twin share’ accommodation. Choose the share twin room option (male or female) on the booking form.

*Costings are based on prices from January 2026. All bookings on our projects are governed by our Terms and Conditions.​ The AUD conversion Rate of Exchange used in this project is 2.00 for GBP prices and 1.5 for USD prices. ​​​

• Accommodation on the tour from check-in on Day 1 (usually around 3pm) to check-out (usually around 10am) on the final day of the tour.

• All transfers, transportation, flights, trains, and local excursions as outlined in the itinerary (if applicable).

WHAT'S NOT INCLUDED IN MY TOUR?

• Optional Excursions mentioned in the tour are offered closer to the tour departure date (approximately 9 months prior to the tour departure).

• International flights to/from Australia. Our flight partner, Star Travel UK, can assist with an international flight quote approximately 11 months in advance of the tour departure.

• Additional pre or post hotel nights outside the tour dates.  If required these can be requested at booking stage, with costs being advised approximately 9 months prior to the tour departure.
